If you have sensitive skin, you know that it can be really hard to find soaps and cleansers that will leave your skin looking nice and clean but won't cause you to itch, break out, or turn red. There are some things that you can do that will help your skin get clean and feel nice at the same time.

Limit Ingredients

One thing to do is to look for soaps or cleansers that have as few ingredients as possible. The fewer ingredients that a product has, the less likely a product is to irritate your skin. You may have to turn to specialty or hand made soaps in order to find one that only has a few ingredients.

Use a Limited Amount of Products

There are many products out there that you can use. It can be tempting to have an eye cream, moisturizer, sunscreen, night cream, soap, toner, and several other products that you use on your face every day. However, every time you use another product on your skin, you run the risk of causing some skin irritation. So, you really want to limit how many products you are using on your face, or indeed any other part of your body. Generally, all you need is a mild soap, moisturizer, and sunscreen.

Introduce New Products Slowly

If you want to try a new soap, moisturizer, or lotion, you should do it slowly. You don't want to just jump right in and use it before seeing what will happen. For example, if you are using a new body lotion, try just using it on one arm or leg first. If you do it that way, you will be able to watch to see if there is a reaction. If, after a couple of days there is no reaction, then you can use it on your whole body. When you are trying something new for your face, test it out on the inside of your wrist or elbow. Those areas can be similar to the skin of your face, so you should be able to get a pretty good idea of the reaction your face might have.

Likewise, you only want to introduce one new product at a time. Wait for a couple of weeks in between introducing new products, that way you can pin down a reaction to any new product.

Your sensitive skin can take a little more work to take care of, but when you find the right products, your skin can look amazing. For more information, contact companies like The Soap Market.
